Lets Go Fishing.

Bent backs bow towards bonafide break waters
brashly beating bewildered barriers,
as lines languish above lymphatic lives
lieing laden and low with life's likeness.
The lightest touch transforming tranquil time
into the topsy-turvy teasing of a tactful tussle,
between natures natural nuance of nerves
and man's natal need for name sake.
Pounds progress up past previous
pulmonary passings and promptly percieve paradise
as one does when departing dexterously
from depression's daring dominion.
Whistle while we work, wondering with held
wisdoms, wanting the weighty winnings
for crowning contempt and capital consumption,
for captivation of curious children.

Disjointedly United in Common Theme

I went to hear a friend's band, "The Elastic Migraine", perform the other night and found myself scrambling for pen and paper in order to furiously scribble the following torrent of thoughts pulled into the light by Scott's carnivorous guitar solos!

...

The Sound of Elastic Migraine

And the time is incomparable to their sum
when a black jacket groans within his screams
like the lily white unburdened by iron strings.
Fingers red with saliva, split along the parallel
where strangers intermittent are raging like
a shallow man who steps back
from songs universal in their faulting way.
Rhythms sink beneath diamond tarmac
before a candid sky can refrain from
its sarcasm, bursting static fills the screaming silence
and a noise falls in their ears.

The Frontman

He debates the proverbial path with easy banter,
eyes turned in he grins with corrupted pain
and leads you on with glorified noise
like the hum of nicotine bees. Hair pulled
back by grasping fingers of controversy,
in a name they whisper wicked
to the orange backs and silver legs.
Ink fills my tears and I write to weep
a feeling of lust for the splitting skull
and genteel tortures.

Beloved Belle of Bass

This man has known that man, their hearts
relished by communist trading
hear me hear him hear her and know
that their is death in paradise.
He bows to the tiled floors with a
movement of sublimination, electrocution
of sound permeating thickened corners.
But happiness is never bliss, for false notes
corrupt the faulting heirs of maddened crowns,
emotion permitted to enter the lifted dark;
there she waits with a steady breath
for the earth to be still.

Things to come on The Candid Reviewer

Hi All

Do you get as frustrated as I do when you're shopping online and can't find a large enough selection of the product you are looking for? A few times now I've settled for something that was just ok because I was so tired of link hopping. This is never a pleasant experience. But I don't have to worry about that anymore, I recently discovered CSN Stores and with over 200 stores each covering their own niche you are sure to find exactly what you are looking for. And the best part is, you can shop their entire network of online stores with just one cart. How great is that! CSN Stores offers everything from vibrant kids bedding, to classy living room decor, to a vast selection of home improvement items, and the list goes on.

CSN Stores will soon be giving me the chance to review the Wall Candy Arts Chalkboard Removable Wall Decals from their All Modern online store. Stay tuned to see if this simple solution can get me organized and running on time (without leaving me a wall to repaint)!

Hey Guess What...

...I've got (yet another) NEW BLOG! Yup, instead of sleeping and trying to get rid of this rotten cold I'm up to all hours carefully decorating another part of the blogosphere. This new blog is going to take a little bit of work to become exactly what I want it to be, and hopefully that will be sooner rather than later. I would like to make The Candid Reviewer into a fully operational Review & Giveaway blog, similar to the ones I've become addicted to recently, they're listed in the sidebar to the right.
I'll probably be starting with book reviews, daily etsy finds, and listing some of the giveaways I've entered, and try to work up to products that I think would be useful to a variety of blog readers. But this all hinges on my new blog's statistics; there must be enough followers and unique page visits in order to make this baby fly. (hint, hint).
Maybe some of you would like to check it out HERE .
Thanks for taking a look!

Sarah-Paige the Candid Reviewer.

On the Otherside

Moss covered bricks barely standing
surround a sanctuary overgrown
silently hid behind doors that were
and now stooping to brush splinters
against the dew tipped grass,
lavender and rose punctuate
the airy still hung there like a debtor
by roots tangled and dry.

he reaches to stop the clock,
the stars stand counted.

Secrets of the Children

A raspy tune rolled on the tongue
of a carnival ride
summer nights lit in pastel colors
and shooting stars,
they were in her eyes like miracles
on Jesus fingertips.

Drawing breath, chest rising
to fall again
the weight of a thousand roses
in her sigh,
trinkets of silver and gold
are monochrome and still.

Curtains run from floor to ceiling
cheeks a poignant blush
ballerina toes point towards the sky
silent and reaching,
her music box with lid ajar singing soft
the secrets of children.

Mom Gave It To Amy

Teapot silver and true
reality refracted
in its curvature sides
my counterfeit muse.

On a capsule of age
handle and spout aligned
along the meridian divide
holding candle lit rage.

But lies could not tame me
eyes a piercing suprise
all went dark as I heard,
'mom gave it to Amy'.

5 for 5 --- EDIT

EDIT ((( I understand that many of you are probably quite busy, and may not be able to participate in this round of giving and receiving. So...I will not be making your giving mandatory. I have simply posted the rules for those that may want to carry this on to their blog.
The first five people to respond to this post will receive something regardless of their level of participation. )))

I was checking out Plot 55's Friday My Town Shootout, when I came across a post entitled 5 for 5. This is a giveaway of sorts, with a slight, but fun, catch.
How it works...
The first five (5) people to comment on this post will get 'something' from me...pretty simple...but (I warned you)...these five (5) people then go on to give away one (1) thing to the first five (5) people who comment on their "5 for 5" post.

Following are the details that you can copy and paste into your post. (as copied from Plot 55 )

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make. Whatcha get is whatcha get.
2. What I create will be just for you, with love.

3. It’ll be done this year (2010).

4. I will not give you any clue what it’s going to be. It will be something made in the real world and not something cyber. It may be weird or beautiful. Or it may be monstrous and annoying. Heck, I might bake something for you and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that’s for sure!

5. I reserve the right to do something strange.

6. In return, all you need to do is post this text on your blog and make 5 things for the first 5 to respond to your blog post.

7. Send your mailing address – after I contact you.

Well that's one way to get things rolling in 2010!!!!

Luv Sarah-Paige

By The Light of a Dying Star

trees form their jagged silhouettes
as the sun descends from a darkened heaven
cities glow in the valley of Eden
and a violent star shines its last

all eyes have been shut off tonight
hands' of the slain raising a hallelujah
to their god on high
but the curtain could not hide his shadows

bodies drift in a stale breeze
now loosed from their ring of fire
upon the path incarnate
by the light of a dying star.

wrapped neat in loyal shadows,
sing soft my young blossom.

I make my curious path;

Serpents in the Healer

He spoke with eyes rolled back
into his native skins
and as the words rolled off
his forgien tongue
they punctuated an atmosphere
of bitter mourning,
but hands held over eyes
could not disguise
the unexpected death.

The freedom bringers
stood round helplessly,
hopelessly,
to look into the face
of human destruction
and as the heads bowed
the hearts turned away
in bloody shame.

A mark was made permanent
on virgin life
as small hands had grasped
an artificial light
only to find death
lurking in its shadow,
a war against lies
spinning out of control
as the bombs fall
on the school houses
as the mines give away
your hiding spot.

Serpents in the healer
arouse an ugly head of revenge,
for tomorrow was killed today
and yesterday has said
its goodbyes, while now
stands tall and bullet riddled
and with the voices of millions
proclaims a devasting prophecy
of an eye for an eye.

her smile got caught in a frown

muddied eyes peak into the room
but it's just mother
dancing with a broom

lamps topple one by one
father's pleading for a son

unaware of the sin
a little girl spins

arms spread in the moonlight
cast by a window's sight

her song silenced beneath
a sharp breath, in and out
fingers caught between teeth

but pain is absent from this scene
whatever could it mean

five years old and falling
could God hear her calling

dancing hair is finally stilled
that night eternity fulfilled

as the glass rained down
her smile got caught in a frown

doctor's arms couldn't cure
the rage simple and pure

stab the needle deeper
maybe it will be your keeper.

just a word no one's read

eyes linger on shadows
as the music makes its way
right down to your toes

a shuffle and a hop
but before you know it
all your senses stop

it's a numb moment
as fingers brush
a smile heaven sent

the world falls away
and your left with
a burning cliche

but hey who said
that love was something new
it's just a word no one's read.

Gone without capture

The June sky smiled down on my sister and I, as we sat unaware of the passing time. Feeling the smoothed pebbles beneath naked feet we held cooled pop bottles to the back of our glistening necks, the rhythmic waves demanding an asembled silence. Words remained on the backs of our tongues, yet we knew each other's thoughts.
As we grew accustomed to the surreal line between the assurance of land and the rash reality of sea, curiosity poised itself to strike. Dancing along the narrow strand of sand we broke the silence with unrestrained laughter, flashing eyes daring life to laugh back. A picture perfect moment gone without capture.

do we just take it all in stride

red hair and wild eyes
hid the pain of goodbyes
but sealed lips couldn't keep
all the silence down deep

lonley hands grasp one another
everybody lean on your brother
but today love called in dead
take a bite out of your hate instead

what happens when the sky falls
and lights go on in basement halls
when the boy meets the girl
finding innocence in her playful twirl

does the world keep turning
as children lie burning
with their words hidden inside
or do we just take it all in stride

the lie that is love

buried eyes see inward
beneath a frozen smile
of insecurity,
she wants to spell the words
that would heal her
but a fear of recognition
threatens the thought.
in arms of her own
she finds a careful love,
a spiritual plain.
the cornered instincts
become the audible rage
as her eyes finally close
to the darkness within
as it explodes around a bullet
shot from her pleading hands,
fingers curled around
the lie that is love.

stillness came to be her breath

with a tilt of her head
and laughter in her eyes
she waved a half hearted good-bye
to those who stood
where angels had fallen
their eyes pale and sunken

snow drifts down to white out
the stained concrete
preserved below the broken sheets
of shattered glass
that had been floors above
before pain's final shove

stars blinked back their tears
as life turned to death
and stillness came to be her breath
