her pastel skin, forming butterflies

Silent music lulls her silver soul.

Green and speckled brown eyes
gaze from a face wrought
with an unanswered question - why?
Her tears burn as they rain in violet.

Trembling hands remember
the simplicity of childhood colors
as she brushes away hair, stained
in the darkness of pain's shadow.
