What I'm Listening To

O.k, so this idea was totally stolen from Faith at Stones From My Heart...please forgive me Faith :)

Anyways, I am very inspired by music, so I thought from now on I would post two or three songs that have been inspiring me of late. Who knows maybe they'll inspire you!

Metric - - Glass Ceiling
This tracks guitar work (played by James Shaw) reminds me of Johnny Cash in some parts and acoustic Depeche Mode in others. The lyrics to me make sense in an odd poetic sort of way, and I think they're delivered in a beautiful and subtly strong way by Emily Haines.

Modest Mouse - - Dashboard
It wouldn't let me embed this one but if you've got a few moments I recommend this video for three minutes of very creative entertainment. The lyrics as usual are very creative and tell a rather amusing story. You can find them here, LYRICS , and the video here, VIDEO .
"Well the dashboard melted, but we still had the radio." Modest Mouse

The Killers - - Human
Another one that wouldn't let me embed, but hopefully the link continues to work.
I love just about everything from the Killers, lyrically I believe them to be one of the best bands out there. But that is just my opinion!
The song is here, VIDEO .

Enjoy :)

How exciting! I love to listen to music and I love to hear what other people are listening to! I like how you give some information for each song. I will definitely listen to these later when I have more time. My writing is at a standstill at the moment and music does help me feel more creative. I have a feeling I will be posting music for a few more days:). I am still in awe of your ability to keep the poems coming and they are so stong and moving!

I am back...and Wow, Wow, Wow. I love all of these songs. Emily Haines has a beautiful voice.
The Modest Mouse song is creative and funny, Highly entertaining.
And the Killers are amazing. I love the line "are we human, or are we dancer..." I can't wait to share these with my daughter (she is 14 and always on the look out for new to her music)
Thanks so much for posting these:)
