Behind the Rice Screen

This is a rhyming Swap Quatrain

Candles flicker behind a rice screen,
a lovers touch is felt at fifteen
a wednesday night drowned in liquor,
behind a rice screen candles flicker.

A painted face screams for mercy,
her guilty tears break through the levee
staining her wrists crimson as she dreams,
for mercy a painted face screams.

She opens dying eyes to another day
her silken skinned body in disarray
a simplified mind remembers the lies,
to another day she opens dying eyes.
