Dieing Love -Freewrite-

Refined version
(See original below)
Talk, while you sit here...
show me a rose my color,
show me where the sun's
tears fall, where
rain swells with pride
and journey's through
its desert heart.
Please, cry too;
for you know I will
leave soon, my time is coming
like nightfall, unstoppable.
Wavering on the edge,
balancing on my life's fence
as horses gallop by...
handsome cowboys shouts
ignite a jealousy in your eyes.
But you're in your own world
most of the time, why must I wait,
how long must I wait?
Watching you there by the window,
I notice your blond hair is darker,
your face too, unshaven and dark.
I hear you laugh, I laugh too;
at what I don't know, there is no
joy here anymore, no more a smile
just to pass the time.
I pass you on your way,
but you don't see how around corners
shadows run, stumbling intoxicated...
feel me now, know me now, see me now...
I'm slipping away, away down into the waves
my hands tied, my heart slowing.
It will stop soon, I will stop;
it is the nature of things.
I will go in peace, in happiness
with a smile and a simple laugh
like when I would spend afternoons
gazing into your cloudless eyes.

I like the fluidity of this second revision. It comes over as softer, somehow... lovely!
