Gone without capture

The June sky smiled down on my sister and I, as we sat unaware of the passing time. Feeling the smoothed pebbles beneath naked feet we held cooled pop bottles to the back of our glistening necks, the rhythmic waves demanding an asembled silence. Words remained on the backs of our tongues, yet we knew each other's thoughts.
As we grew accustomed to the surreal line between the assurance of land and the rash reality of sea, curiosity poised itself to strike. Dancing along the narrow strand of sand we broke the silence with unrestrained laughter, flashing eyes daring life to laugh back. A picture perfect moment gone without capture.
