just a word no one's read

eyes linger on shadows
as the music makes its way
right down to your toes

a shuffle and a hop
but before you know it
all your senses stop

it's a numb moment
as fingers brush
a smile heaven sent

the world falls away
and your left with
a burning cliche

but hey who said
that love was something new
it's just a word no one's read.

I'm not always a fan of rhyming poems but I'll make a big exception for this one. It has such great images and the rhythm flows so the rhymes fit right in! I'll have to rethink my preferances! Thanks.

Great rhymes, and not obvious ones. A good read!

1) I wanted to wish you a Fantastic New Year, Sarah-Paige:) Is there a 2010 In Pictures in the works?

2) I, too, love the way you handled the rhymes, and it reads like the movement of a dance. I'm still stumped by your last stanza, but at the same time LOVE how it reads. And, are these two feeling love or lust, or perhaps both!! And, that's why I dislike leaving comments about poetry because I never know whether to read a poem literally or figuratively:)

Until next time.
